Jerry is an orthopedic surgeon who first came to town in 1976 as an intern at Lancaster General Hospital. After his orthopedic residency at the Mayo Clinic, he returned and joined Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster.
Like Al, his brother, he grew up in Minersville, PA and started playing baritone and then trombone in grade school. After college at Muhlenberg, he put the trombone away to pursue his medical studies. Once established in practice he helped start the Auscultation Brass, a group of doctors performing at various venues locally since 1985.
He lives in Manheim Township with his wife Carla, who played clarinet and bassoon in their high school band. They have three sons, two of whom live locally and six grandkids. As he slows down in his active practice of orthopedics, he is loving more practice on the trombone and playing the big band tunes with the Moonlighters.
