The Moonlighters Big Band is based in Lititz, Pennsylvania, under the musical direction of pianist Keith Reifsnyder and featuring talented vocalist Rachel Roach. Most band members are from Lititz and the surrounding communities and range in age from their 20s to their 80s. The ensemble’s library includes tunes from the great big band leaders of the 1930s, 1940s, and other eras—such as Glenn Miller, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Les Brown, Harry James, and many more—and has adopted Miller’s “Moonlight Serenade” as its signature theme song.
Lititz United Methodist Church, where we rehearse monthly, is the band’s current home. Our peak season typically runs from April through October, although we are available to play year round. You can find us around the Lititz area and surrounding locations throughout Lancaster and Lebanon counties; the band also travels to other locations, such as Berks, Schuylkill, York, and Dauphin counties. We play at local retirement communities, dances, churches, parks, weddings, fund-raisers, and other events where people appreciate and enjoy the music of the big band era.
If you’ve never heard us, you’re in for a treat. Our “Videos” page offers a preview of the sounds of the band and the music that we play. Be sure to view our schedule to see where you can listen and dance to the great music of yesterday.
